Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has opened a new office in Las Vegas staffed with mobile personnel to be dispatched to the scenes of environmental accidents. The new emergency response team, called ERT-West, mirrors the original office stationed in Edison, N.J. The Las Vegas facility hosts 15 emergency responders who provide 24-hour assistance in environmental risk assessments, health and safety protocols and hazardous waste cleanups.
