Habitat for Humanity benefits from aluminum recycling

The Cans for Habitat program has awarded six Habitat for Humanity affiliates grants totaling $100,000 in recognition of outstanding recycling efforts. The program, which is run by the Aluminum Association, uses aluminum can recycling to fund the construction of homes built by Habitat for Humanity, whose affiliates make up the program’s participants.

The grant recipients were Habitat for Humanity of Yuma, Ariz., Grand Island, Neb., Springhill, La., Hopkinsville, Ky., Villa Ridge, Mo., and Bellville, Texas.
