S.W. Land Co. has agreed to a pay a $16,398 fine to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) for regulatory violations at the firm’s construction and demolition debris landfill in Guernsey County. According to an Ohio EPA press release, “the violations [that led to the fine] stem from conducting waste disposal activities above approved elevations.”

Most of the fine will be given to the state’s Environmental Protection Remediation Fund that cleans up solid waste facilities. About $4,000 of the fine will be given to a local school district to purchase recycling containers.
