Leavitt Confirmed As Secretary of HHS

Washington — The U.S. Senate voted on Wednesday to confirm Michael Leavitt as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Leavitt, a former governor of Utah, had served as administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency since late 2003. President Bush has not yet nominated a successor for Leavitt at the EPA.
