Last month, New Jersey officials received a federal injunction that will halt construction of a waste transfer station in the Pinelands National Reserve located in Mullica Township. According to an article in Newsday, U.S. District Court Judge Jerome B. Simandle issued the injunction, which will also give Pinelands Commission officials the authority to determine if construction will continue on the one million-acre site. Despite opposition from residents and township officials, the builder will have the opportunity to ensure the commission that the construction will not harm the reserve.
