Pennsylvania Recycles Record Amount In 2003

Philadelphia — A record 4.5 million tons of municipal solid waste were recycled in Pennsylvania in 2003, according to a state report released last week. In doing so, the state avoided $240 million in disposal costs, the report says. Based on commodity prices, the states estimates that the recycled materials brought in a total of $68 million.
