Rocky Bleier To Be Keynote Speaker at WASTECON 2004

Silver Spring, Md. — Rocky Bleier, a member of four National Football League (NFL) championships as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970s, will the keynote speaker at the WASTECON 2004 show in Phoenix, which will be held Sept. 21-23. Before his NFL career, Bleier, who was a running back, sustained severe leg injuries during the Vietnam War and was told he would never walk again.

"Bleier’s accomplishments are truly amazing, and we at SWANA are honored to have him as our WASTECON 2004 keynote speaker," says John H. Skinner, executive director and CEO of The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). "His football career and life stories are sure to create a message that will resonate with everyone in Phoenix."
