Scottsdale, Ariz. — The city of Scottsdale, Ariz., has launched a pilot recycling program in its parks, according to a report in The Arizona Republic. The city is using bins that were once part of Scottsdale’s curbside recycling program; therefore, so far, the pilot has not cost the city anything, according to the paper.

The city’s biggest concern is that residents will place trash in the canisters and contaminate the recyclable bottles and cans inside, a city official told the newspaper.
