SWANA Announces Scholarship Winners

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), Silver Spring, Md., has announced the three winners of its 2008 Grant H. Flint International Scholarship Awards Program, which awards scholarships to children and grandchildren of SWANA members.

This year’s winners, Melina Flores, Erin Peterson and Katherine Diane Sloan, will receive $2,000 scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year. Flores, the daughter of David Flores, Southern California chapter, will attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass. Peterson, the daughter of Eric Peterson, New Jersey chapter, will attend Denison University, Granville, Ohio. Sloan, the daughter of Jimmy Sloan, Mississippi Magnolia chapter, will attend Mississippi State University.
