WASTECON Session to Discuss World Trade Center Debris

Baltimore -- At WASTECON 2001, Oct. 15-18, the Lawrence Lecturer will be professor William L. Rathje, renowned garbologist and landfill expert. He will hold a session on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 1:45-3:15pm, on the management of disaster debris that currently is being barged and trucked from the World Trade Center site to the recently reopened Fresh Kills Landfill in Staten Island, N.Y.

The session will focus on what the solid waste industry has learned from recent cleanup efforts and what it can do in the future to be more prepared to respond to and manage disaster debris in the future.
