Tucson Taxpayers Pay $30,000 Per Month for Contaminated Recycling

City of Tuscon, Ariz. residents are paying $30,000 month for contaminated recycle bins.

Republic Services charges Tuscon when more than 15 percent of its bins are deemed contaminated. More than 90 percent of the city's residents participate in curbside pickup.

Items include plastic bags, used clothing, yard waste and more.
