Cape Coral, Fla., Residents Upset Over Debris Left Behind by Garbage Trucks

Residents feel that Waste Pro should be responsible for cleaning up the debris, but Waste Pro says it’s a two-way street.

Residents in Cape Coral, Fla., are expressing their frustration over the amount of debris that is left behind by garbage trucks. And while the residents feel that Waste Pro should be responsible for cleaning up the debris, Waste Pro says it’s a two-way street.

In an effort to put an end to the problem, Waste Pro is working with the City of Cape Coral to send out a dos and don’ts list that includes tips on how to properly dispose of waste and recyclables.

Frustration is building among residents as debris is being left behind by garbage trucks in Cape Coral.

"They just dump and go they just don't... 90 percent of it could be eliminated if they would just slow down," said Steve Colgan.

Debris is strewn across streets, and neighbors feel the Waste Pro driver should be responsible for cleaning up.
