Macon-Bibb, Ga., Could Add Residential Garbage Fees to Property Tax Bills
Macon-Bibb, Ga., is considering adding residential garbage fees to annual property tax bills instead of sending out quarterly statements.
Two years ago, Macon and Bibb County, Ga., commissioners approved a proposal to increase the fee for residential garbage and recycling collection. And now, in an effort to improve collection rates, Macon-Bibb, Ga., is considering adding residential garbage fees to annual property tax bills instead of sending out quarterly statements.
Under the proposed ordinance, residents would pay $300 for 15 months of service from October 2017 to December 31, 2018, which is equal to $20 a month. But in 2019, the fee would increase to $22 a month.
The Macon-Bibb County Commission’s Committee of the Whole will be discussing the proposed ordinance later today.
