Many residents in Saginaw County, Mich., will receive trash pickup an hour earlier than normal on Halloween in an effort to keep trick-or-treaters safe.

To ensure that early trash collection goes as planned, residents are being asked to place materials at their curbside by 6 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016.

Most residents of Saginaw County with a Monday garbage pickup day should make sure to put out their trash cans early for the Halloween holiday this year.

Mid Michigan Waste Authority plans to begin trash collection an hour earlier than usual on Monday, Oct. 31, according to a press release.

The authority provides waste collection services for 70,000 homes and 35 area communities, covering nearly all jurisdictions in Saginaw County and some in Gratiot County.
