Call it junk science: Orlando is launching a garbage experiment.
During a six-month pilot program starting Monday, several city neighborhoods will have one garbage pickup day and one recycling pickup day a week. The city currently collects trash twice a week, and recycling once every other week.
Officials say the test was prompted by residents who said their recycling bins are overflowing because those trucks aren't coming often enough. It was a gripe that rang true for Mayor Buddy Dyer.
