Clermont, Fla., to Launch Single-Stream Recycling

The city is getting ready to launch a new recycling program that officials hope will eliminate the need for separating recyclable materials.

Under the “single-stream” method, residents won’t have to sort material and drivers won’t have to do it, said Environmental Services Director Paul Roy.

“It’s going to be a lot better this way. We had the big trucks before, but we were having to manually sort material. Now, with the automated system, no one has to worry about that. All the recyclables go into one cart and one place in the truck,” Roy said.
