Textile Recycler Removes Bins After Complaints

A businessman placing clothing drop-off bins in Des Moines, Iowa has removed them following a series of complaints.

Brad Burtnette set up brightly-colored green bins throughout the city last year. City council officials say that while the effort to divert clothing from landfill is commendable, the businessman behind the bins is littering the city with them. Under city ordinance, the bins are considered waste collection receptables and should be located in backyards.
