Businesses, Churches File Appeals Against Recently Approved Akron Waste Transfer Station

In Ohio, the Akron City Council has approved a waste transfer station on the east side of town, but two appeals have been filed against the approval.

In Ohio, the Akron City Council has approved a waste transfer station on the east side of town, but two appeals have been filed against the approval.

The first appeal challenges the legality of the approval and includes commercial tenants and others who have property within a one-mile radius of the site. The second appeal includes Zion Temple Baptist Church and Good Hope Baptist Church, both located within a mile from the waste transfer station.

The City Council agreed to the plan in late October, which will allow WM to build the waste transfer facility and operate the site as long as it complies with agreed-upon parameters.
