Judge Halts Rizzo Environmental Services Pickup Service in Flint, Mich.
The temporary restraining order will prevent Flint Mayor Karen Weaver from using Rizzo to haul the city’s trash for a minimum of 10 days.

Following a recent attempt to terminate its contract with Republic Services, the City of Flint, Mich., tried to allow Rizzo Environmental Services to haul the city’s trash, which resulted in both Republic and Rizzo picking up garbage in the city on Monday.
After that incident, Genesee Circuit Judge Joseph J. Farah signed a temporary restraining order that will prevent Flint Mayor Karen Weaver from using Rizzo to haul the city’s trash for a minimum of 10 days. As of now, the city’s 90-day contract with Republic remains in effect until Farah issues an order for the contract to be properly terminated.

A restraining order has been signed temporarily ending a dispute that saw two companies picking up garbage Monday in Flint.
Flint City Councilman Scott Kincaid filed for a temporary restraining order on Friday that was signed by Genesee Circuit Judge Joseph J. Farah on Monday, Sept. 26, preventing Flint Mayor Karen Weaver from using Rizzo to haul the city's trash for at least 10 days.
The order also requires council members and Weaver's administration to meet this week in Farah's chambers to hash out the contract dispute.
