Morrico Equipment is claiming that the Guam Solid Waste Authority is hoarding $10 million that it does not plan to use for solid waste-related projects. Guam Solid Waste Authority has stated that it wants to purchase new trash trucks, but refuses to accept Morrico’s bid for trash trucks with a standard cab design because it wants to purchase cab-forward trucks only.
A ruling in the Superior Court of Guam states that the Guam Solid Waste Authority must consider purchasing Morrico’s standard cab trucks.
Pacific Daily News has more details:
The solid waste receiver is hoarding cash and currently is sitting on $10 million that it does not plan to use for solid waste-related projects, the attorneys for heavy equipment business Morrico stated in federal court documents.
The company, which is in a procurement dispute with the Guam Solid Waste Authority, raised the issue in court to make the point that the receivership is not endangered if GSWA is unable to immediately procure new trash trucks.
