NYC, Fresh Kills Landfill Victims Reach $34 Million Settlement Nearly 30 Years Later

Thirty-two alleged victims who suffered cancer and other ailments from the former Brookfield and Fresh Kills landfills will receive a $34 million settlement.

The lawsuit was initially filed in 1993 against New York City and included victims as young as two years old.
