Four South Carolina senators are urging their colleagues to pass a landfill moratorium to reduce the amount of out-of-state waste coming into state landfills.

According to a story by the Associated Press, the bill would prevent the state’s health and environmental agency from considering landfill permits until Dec. 31, 2010. A hearing is expected in two weeks.
