Thailand to Ban Foreign Scrap Plastic Imports

Thailand announced it will join other Southeast Asian countries and ban all imports of foreign scrap plastic by 2021.

Since China enacted its recycling import ban, countries like the U.S., the U.K. and Japan have increased their reliance on Thailand as a plastic waste importer. Now, Thailand is joining Vietnam and Malaysia and closing its doors to plastic waste imports.
