The Richmond, Va.-based Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA), has joined the Arlington, Va.-based Curbside Value Partnership (CVP). CVWMA provides waste services for 13 local governments in central Virginia.

CVP will work with CVWMA to implement a public relations campaign aimed at increasing curbside recycling in the cities of Richmond, Colonial Heights and Ashland, as well as Goochland, Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover counties. The campaign will incorporate advertising and social media outreach, among other components.

“Through this partnership we have the potential to reach more than 250,000 households with meaningful messages about recycling,” said David Gill, chairman of CVP and the global account director for Novelis Corp., in a press release.

“Working with CVWMA, we will educate residents on how they can participate in their community’s program and hopefully demonstrate to them why their efforts are so critical,” added Steve Thompson, executive director of CVP, in the press release. “We all benefit from more recyclables, and we are pleased to be partnering with CVWMA in this important effort.”
