Longview Recycling Program Grows

Bolstered by the rollout of a new sanitation program, city recycling increased about 30 percent this past year compared with 2013.

Longview Recycling Coordinator David Simmons said the city ended 2014 collecting about 2,365 tons of materials, up from 1,708 tons the year before.

“Three fourths of the year was normal, and so just the last three-and-a-half (months) increased us 28 percent,” Simmons said.
