Under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Biden's administration has invested over 3 billion dollars in the United States lithium-ion industry. As part of this investment, 335 million dollars were specifically allocated towards the end-of-life of these products.

With a $3 billion dollar investment into lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, the Biden administration has allocated 335 million dollars to developing the recycling of these products in the United States.
The motivation is to boost green energy and establish more independent energy sources in the country. In order to appropriately build a system for this energy source, it is important to consider the end-of-life process as well, which this portion of the funding is aimed at supporting. The funding is part of The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
