Albuquerque Solid Waste Says 100K Tons of Recycled Material Stolen Per Month

Albuquerque Solid Waste spokesman Bobby Sisneros estimates the city collects up to 200,000 tons of recycling material in total per month.

However, there is a problem.

Sisneros said a lot of that material is being stolen before it can make it to the recycling facility.

He estimated up to 100,000 tons of mostly aluminum and cardboard is taken monthly.
