California's New Law to Tackle Plastic at The Source

California's new plastic pollution law is receiving mixed reviews from environmentalists.

California recently passed a law aiming to take the burden of plastic recycling off of consumers. The law transfers responsibility to the plastic producers, however, critics aren't sure this will solve the problem at hand. With high goals, the law sets out to make sure 65 percent of single-use plastics are recycled in the coming ten years. This goal comes alongside other goals of making certain packaging types recyclable or compostable and cutting plastic production back by 25 percent in the same ten years.
