The city of Cleveland has relaunched its recycling program as of June 13th, 2022, and is considered a "basic city service" by Mayor Justin Bibb; however, many citizens remain out of the loop.
With support from residents and city commissioners alike regarding the recycling program, some residents were shocked to hear of the recycled materials that went straight to landfills after a recently expired contract between the city and the hauling company. In order to be enrolled in the program, community members must apply before August 1st.
