ECUA’s Recycling Facility Fire One Week After Reopening

In its first week of operation after reopening, ECUA's recycling facility had a fire. The fire was reportedly caused by the improper disposal of recycling materials by the facility's customers.

A fire was reported at ECUA’s recycling facility on Friday of its first week of reopening. Officials say the machinery has been turned off for five hours prior to the fire, so they are not at fault. It is stated that it was caused by certain materials being improperly placed in the inappropriate recycling bin. The fire did not prevent the facility from opening the following Monday.
