FloraLife is introducing recyclable, all polypropylene plastic flower food packets, which can be recycled under various global programs without losing quality or performance of the standard plastic packets currently available.
Typically, plastic food packets for flowers can not be recycled as they are made of mixed plastic laminate.
“We’ve seen more and more of our customers in areas including the U.K., Germany, Australia, and South America, moving away from single-use plastics and embracing recyclable polypropylene for their packaging,” said Mark Allen, Global Product and Sustainability Manager of FloraLife.
This move follows the plan laid out in FloraLife’s 2025 sustainability plan. This initiative is a long-term plan targeting 2025 that implements the reduce, re-use, recycle, and respect principles across five areas including sustainable packaging.
