Indianapolis – Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson has targeted the city’s curbside recycling program for possible elimination to overcome a possible budget shortfall of nearly $12 million by 2007. According to Department of Public Works spokeswoman Margie Smith Simmons, only 3.5 percent of eligible households participate in the recycling program, and the program’s elimination could save the city about $400,000.
