Lockyer Valley Regional Council adds mattresses to recycling trial. With anywhere between 1.6 and 1.8 million mattresses ending up in Australian landfills per year, the shift is to preserve landfill space by recovering as much material from the landfills as possible. Partnering with Ability Enterprises, some teams within the organization have been known capable to process 100 to 300 mattresses a week.
"It's a well-known fact that end-of-life mattresses are a growing problem, not only in Australia but globally."
