Gordon Shaw, president of Vernon, Ala.-based Marathon Equipment, has announced his retirement, effective Feb. 28, 2010. Gordon, recently elected chairman of the Washington-based Environmental Industry Association, has been the waste equipment manufacturer’s president since 2003.

“The waste equipment industry has certainly benefited from Gordon’s direction and counsel,” said Dave Ropp, CEO of Dover Industrial Products, Marathon’s parent company, in a press release. “Marathon’s employees, customers and I will always be grateful for the leadership and guidance he has provided over the years.”
