Mason City, Iowa Recycling Center Stops Accepting Glass and Plastic

Mason City, Iowa has been transporting glass and plastics to the Landfill of North Iowa.

City officials stated that a lack of end markets for the materials has brought its recycling program to a halt. It is paying $37 per ton to dump materials at the landfill.

They added that they are working on a solution and hope the situation is temporary.
