Ministry Censures Beverage Companies for Slow Collection of Recycling Containers

An Israeli Environmental Protection Ministry condemns companies for their unhurried attitude to the country's bottle collection legislature.

Israel has a Bottle Deposit Law, which requires importers to recollect a minimum of 77 percent of the beverage containers they market within the country and at least 90 percent of the containers returned to stores by consumers. The law specifies that this must also happen within a reasonable time, explaining the discontent expressed by the Environmental Protection Ministry.

The ministry said they were developing more detailed instructions on the timeline and frequency required under this collection process.
