This week, Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell signed a bill that will place stricter regulations on tire recycling facilities. According to a press release issued by the governor’s office, House Bill 1114 requires the facilities to have proper registration with the state Department of Environmental Protection and will prevent those without state authorization from providing tires to waste tire haulers. The bill will also require those who contribute to waste tire piles to pay for the cleanup.
