New York Implements New E-Waste Recycling Rules

With the start of a new year comes the beginning of a new e-waste program in the state of New York.

An update to state law requires manufacturers of electronics to provide free collection and recycling of electronics. The legislation is part of a countrywide focus on extended producer responsibility (EPR), which passes the costs of disposing and recycling products onto producers.
