Week of June 12, 2023:
EverestLabs, developer of RecycleOS, announced a new addition to its leadership team. Steve Costello joins the team as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales as the company enters a new phase of growth after several successful partnerships with industry leaders including Republic Services, Pioneer Recycling Services, KW Plastics, Universal Waste Systems (UWS), and Sims Municipal Recycling (SMR).
Steve brings over 30 years of expertise across deep technology, commercial sales, and executive leadership. Having successfully built and led revenue and partnership teams for complex software-as-a-service (SaaS) and hardware solutions at early and growth stage companies, Steve will lead the commercialization of EverestLabs' AI robotics and data solutions in his new role as SVP of Sales.
Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, announces the promotion of Cooper Tharp to site manager at Shotwell Environmental Park. Tharp’s three years with Meridian Waste have progressively increased with site responsibility and compliance knowledge, first as a heavy equipment operator to landfill supervisor, and most recently to site manager. As site manager, Tharp will be responsible for the management of disposal acceptance, operations, maintenance, and compliance including supervising a team of disposal operators. Tharp is a certified North Carolina Landfill Operator earning the designation in March 2022.
Tharp graduated from Corinth Holders High School in Wendell, NC, in 2020. He began his environmental career maintaining golf courses for the Fred Smith Company. He was responsible for cutting greens, pruning bushes, and operating various large and small landscaping equipment. In May 2020, Tharpe joined the Meridian Waste team transitioning from smaller earth moving equipment to very large and industrial "yellow iron" or heavy equipment used in the excavation, operations, and maintenance of modern-day landfills.
Global sensor-based sorting technology provider, TOMRA Recycling Sorting, announces Gleb Trofimov as a new area sales manager for the Americas, strengthening the company’s sales support for the waste, plastics, wood and metals recycling industries. In this role, Trofimov will consult directly with TOMRA partners and customers throughout Canada and portions of the United States to implement the right advanced sorting technologies designed to improve recycling recovery rates, increase product purity and throughput, and boost profitability.
Trofimov offers well-rounded experience in the waste management and recycling industries. For 14 years, he worked in waste collection and recycling, so he understands first-hand the challenges recyclers face. Most recently, he has spent the last four years with TOMRA, leading sales efforts in parts of the Eastern Europe and Asia regions.
Waste Pro is pleased to welcome Troy Hibbs to the role of Division Manager of its Asheville, North Carolina Division. Troy brings over two decades of management experience, and for the last ten years, he worked in the solid waste industry for two of the largest companies in the Midwest. He is an accomplished and motivating leader dealing with operations, project and team management, and strategic collaboration that has led to consistent growth. Most recently, Troy was an Operations Manager in Indiana for a national waste hauler, where his responsibilities included logistics, managing budgets, and focusing on safety practices.
As Division Manager, Troy will oversee 75 employees operating 50 collection vehicles that serve approximately 44,000 customers in Buncombe County, Laurel Park, Biltmore Lake, and Black Mountain.
