Pasco County, Fla., currently recycles less than 2 percent of its residential waste. And because very few residents are recycling, the county is facing a $190 million expansion of its waste-to-energy facility.
In an effort to get more residents to recycle, the county is conducting a survey about the recycling program to learn what adjustments can be made to improve the program.

All your garbage ends up at Pasco County’s waste to energy facility in Spring Hill.
It fills up with 1050 tons of a trash every day!
But so much of the garage could be recycled.
“If you have twice a week garbage pick up, you are already paying for your recycling service. You just have to use it,” said recycling coordinator Jennifer Seney.
