Poland: ‘Huge’ Amounts of Chemical Waste Dumped Into River

On Friday, August 12th, the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, announced a catastrophic situation underway at the country's Oder River. The river, with Poland on one side and Germany on the other, has been the subject of what appears to be an environmental attack. After unfathomably large amounts of fish and other aquatic life began appearing downstream, the county has declared this is due to a large chemical waste dumping that will take the river years to recover from. 

It is believed this was not a mistake and was done knowing how large the impacts could be.
