City of Columbia, Mo.'s Solid Waste Manager Steve Hunt says COVID-19 is impacting the number of workers available for recycling collection.
Concerned residents have taken to Twitter to post photos and express their frustration. Some are saying that they are concerned that residents will discontinue recycling if the conditions don't improve.
Curbside recycling has been at a standstill since July 8, and there's no word from the city on when it will return. Columbia saw recycling revenue fall 27% in 2019.
