Recently, representatives of the provincial Department of Environment and Recycle N.B. put on a presentation about a new plan for paper and plastic packaging to Fredericton city council’s environmental stewardship committee.

Annual savings for municipalities, regions and others running recycling programs in New Brunswick are estimated at $14 million to $16 million, according to Jeff Porter, an engineer in the waste diversion branch of the Department of Environment and Local Government.

Recycle N.B. is the government agency that oversees the process and makes sure that the materials are manages for a healthy environment.
