In a move to further boost its increasing diversion rate, Philadelphia switched its city-wide recycling collection to once each week instead of once every two weeks.

The Washington-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries acquired the assets of the International Association of Electronics Recycling.

Best Buy, Minneapolis, expanded its electronics recycling service to all of its 1,006 stores and will expand the service to its stores in Puerto Rico by 2010.
