  • In a move to further boost its increasing diversion rate, Philadelphia switched its city-wide recycling collection to once each week instead of once every two weeks.

  • The Washington-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries acquired the assets of the International Association of Electronics Recycling.

  • Best Buy, Minneapolis, expanded its electronics recycling service to all of its 1,006 stores and will expand the service to its stores in Puerto Rico by 2010.
