Waste Commission Working on Single-Stream Recycling for Scott County, Ill.

The Waste Commission of Scott County plans to open a single-stream processing facility, which means all recyclable materials — including paper, plastic, glass — can be placed in one container instead of separate containers. The materials would then be separated at the processing facility.

The commission on Tuesday updated the Rock Island County Waste Management Agency on its plans and told of its upcoming need for more recyclable materials, which will make the facility more efficient and the project more economical.
