Polio has been detected in wastewater collected in New York City.
October 13, 2022
Months after being detected in Rockland County's wastewater systems, Polio has now been detected in New York City. There have been 63 different positive detections all connected back to the same patient who contracted Polio in Rockland County.
Officials say those who were vaccinated as children should not worry about the detections. That being said, they also advise proper vaccination and completing the proper steps to finish that vaccination.
