Omaha Fines Deffenbaugh $100,000 for Delays in Yard Waste Pickup

The City of Omaha will fine Deffenbaugh Industries $100,000, and the company will take several steps to ensure that yard waste is picked up faster in the future, the Mayor’s Office said Wednesday.

Omaha public works officials met with Deffenbaugh representatives Wednesday to address complaints about delayed yard waste pickup.

Tuesday, the City Council passed a resolution urging the administration to deal with yard waste problems.

Council members, particularly Chris Jerram, were critical of the city’s management of Deffenbaugh. He said the administration should be more insistent that Deffenbaugh pick up yard waste in a timely manner.
