The city of Hickory, North Carolina is making use of the yard waste collected throughout the year. Grinding up the collected tree waste and processing it, the city will be selling it as compost beginning this week.

The city of Hickory’s yard waste facility will begin the sale of mulch and leaf compost beginning this Friday, September 26th. The compost is made from all of the yard waste collected from residents throughout the year. Comprised of ground tree limbs, Christmas trees, and leaves, the compost is processed at the facility. The mulch and leaf compost is sold in 3-yard scoops for $50 and $25 respectively.
