EIA Names Schweitzer as Standards, Statistics Manager

The Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) has appointed Eric Schweitzer as its new standards & statistics programs manager.

The Washington-based association said in a news release that Schweitzer will lead the development of new safety and performance standards for the Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC) American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z245 Committee and subcommittees and further the acceptance of the standards.

Schweitzer also expects to expand EIA’s statistics program with new technologies and equipment used in the industry and market these programs to members and non-members.
 Prior to joining EIA, Schweitzer facilitated the standards and emerging technologies programs at the Rosslyn, Va.-based National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and safety programs for the Arlington, Va.-based Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI).

“Our standards & statistics programs are important to the association,” said Sharon Kneiss, EIA president and CEO. “They were identified during our recent strategic planning effort as areas where opportunities for growth exist.  Eric’s background makes him the ideal hire and should enable us to grow both programs.”
