WM Receives Approval from Canada for Stericycle Acquisition

WM passed the final leg of its acquisition of Stericycle, Inc. by getting an approval from the Competition Bureau of Canada.

WM received the approval last week and it appears the completion of the merger will come today, Nov. 4, now that all prerequisites related to antitrust regulations and foreign direct investment laws have been met.

Back in June, WM agreed to purchase all outstanding shares of Stericycle for $62 each in cash, totaling $7.2 billion plus $1.4 billion of Stericycle’s net debt.
